8A Writers and Diversity
So, I just received this e-mail:
"I came across it today and it was definitely interesting reading. How come an Indian isn't represented in the group? I would be interested in seeing that."
And to be honest, the reason is: I would be interested in seeing that too, but I don't know a ton of Indian bloggers. (Note: I did reach out to SepiaMutiny.com, but they never got back to me.) One of the things I was looking for was a distinct cross-section of writers, and I kinda feel I let myself down on this regard. A lot of the people who've approached me to write have been Chinese-American; I'm not going to turn someone down because we have too many ABCs but on the other hand, a little bit more diversity would be great.
Which is where I turn to you guys - if you guys know any bloggers that would make for interesting bloggers, let me know - especially bloggers who are South Asian, Filipino, Vietnamese, hapa, queer, Conservative, Spiritual (Christian, Muslim or otherwise) or even someone outside our usual age demographic of people in their mid-20's to early-30's.
