My 8Asians.com: An Asian-American Community

I did a quick search and didn't find an article for it. Do you guys think sites like this help Asian Americans establish an identity, or if it isolates us from the mainstream?

(Also, for blacks, 365black.com)

I am not sure how I feel about it right now.

From McDonalds? I'm lovin' it :D!

To establish an Asian-'Western' identity requires 2nd, 3rd generation Asian Americans to adopt the American way of life... It is 'hard' for newcomers and 1st generations to adapt... sometimes... unless they have one of those 'stories' (Life Story)...

Looking at the site I can see particular life stories that 'reach out'...
Scenario 1: Poverty to Riches. AKA 'Boat Person' and now 'Medical Doctor'.
Scenario 2: Opportunity and Respect! Which is not given in my 'homeland'.
Scenario 3. Mmmmm... Just lovin it! Living in the moment! Enjoy life!
Scenario 4. Uhmm... Oriental-style Americanized! Do you want catsup with that?

The profiled Asians are the stereotypically ones that Western people like to see. These examples are the types of Asians Western people can appreciate contributing to modern American society. They are 'good' examples of Asians 'trying' to conform to American way of life.

Each individual profiled 'looks' very appreciative and respectful to what BIG MAC has 'done'. They don't look to ridicule or judge Ronald's way of life but embrace him... heh. CONFORM and ASSIMILATE!

Sticky rice combo please... heh
